World’s top riders to compete in 2010 Monster Energy Super X

The 2010 Monster Energy Super X will have one of the biggest international rider lineups ever assembled outside of the AMA World Supercross series with a number of the world’s best supercross and motocross riders heading down under to compete.

Already confirmed are four of the top ten riders from the 2010 AMA World Supercross and current World Motocross Championships including:
– Geico Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham (USA); Second overall in this year’s AMA World Supercross series (Canberra and Launceston)
– Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps (USA); Third in this year’s AMA World Supercross series (Canberra and Launceston)
– Jagermeister KTM’s Mike Alessi (USA): Currently fourth overall in the AMA World Motocross series (All rounds)
– Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX’s Justin Brayton (USA); Fifth in this year’s AMA World Supercross series (Newcastle, Canberra and Launceston)

Australia’s greatest ever supercross rider and twice world champion, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Chad Reed, will be back to defend his title in what will be his final Monster Energy Super X Championship and he will be going up against all of Australia’s best including CDR Rockstar Yamaha’s Jay Marmont, Rockstar Motul Suzuki twins Matt and Jake Moss as well as young gun JDR Motorex KTM’s Tye Simmonds.

“The caliber of international riders we have secured for this year’s series is testament to the growth of Super X and the recognition it is getting around the world,” said Michael Porra, managing director of Global Action Sports.

“The racing this year is going to be off the hook with these riders competing against all of Australia’s best who have been stepping it up each year. We are also still in negotiations with other very big name riders that we are hoping to secure in the coming weeks,” concluded Porra.

This year’s series will continue to grow the sport of supercross in Australasia with two New Zealand races and a range of exciting new initiatives at every round. Each race will once again be televised live on Fox Sports and thrilling race formats for each round will be revealed in the coming weeks.
