Petition for RecRego in NSW

If you’ve ever lived in NSW and wanted to go for a ride in your local State Forest or National Park you’ll know the dilemma every dirt bike rider in NSW faces. We’ve got one of two options: get your bike fully registered, paying through your nose to do it, or take the risk, ride an unregistered bike, and hope you don’t get caught. Since we’re all law-abiding citizens, we do the right thing and pay a lot of money for a bike we only ride occasionally.

InsureMyRide are trying to change the NSW laws and introduce RecRego, similar to that found in Victoria and Queensland. The idea is to make it more affordable for recreational motorcycle riders who want to ride their bikes on public roads in State Forest, National Parks, State Parks and Reserves. But they need your help.

They plan to present the scheme and petition to the Legislative Assembly and try get RecRego introduced to NSW. The more signatures the better. It’s not hard. Print out a copy, tell all your mates to sign it over lunch and post it back to the address on the bottom. Five minutes work could save you a lot of money next time you want to go for a ride…
