Chris Warwick wins 2017 Kamfari

Northern Territory’s Chris Warwick has won the 2017 Kamfari; one of Australia’s toughest – and muddiest – enduro races. After years of trying, including multiple minor placings, Warwick finally took the top step of the podium, turning the tables on the bloke who beat him again this year at the Transmoto 12-Hour, Kye Anderson, who had a rough weekend with bike troubles and an engine failure, resulting in a DNF.
The four-hour multi-lap race was staged on the outskirts of Darwin, across flood plains and scrub littered terrain filled with bog holes. The gruelling mud-fest saw some more fancied, big-name riders fail to make the finish while Warwick powered to a two-lap lead, eventually completing 15 laps in typically tropical conditions.

“I have to thank NT Powersports for supplying me with a Sherco,” Warwick said after the event. “It’s seriously one of the best enduro bikes I’ve had the pleasure of riding. This was a proper Kamfari. The majority of the track was really muddy. It was really challenging with a lot of holes and a lot of ruts.” – Chris Warwick
