James Stewart not racing opening AMA Motocross round

James Stewart has announced on his official website that he will not be riding the opening round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown, which kicks off this weekend. The reason for Stewart not to ride? The San Manuel Yamaha rider has said he isn’t prepared enough.

Stewart makes no mention of whether the first round will be the only round he will miss, saying “we won’t race till we’re ready”. Does that mean he will be absent for more than one round? It remains to be seen. We hope Stewart can get ready fast so we can have just as exciting an outdoor series as we did in the supercross this year.

This is Stewart’s message on js7.com, Stewart’s official website:

Everyone witnessed the way I struggled during the Supercross series this year and while I’d like to race this weekend, we just aren’t ready. I hope fans will understand. The decision has been very hard to make, but we won’t race till we’re ready.

– James
