AUSTRALIA’S FIRST TÉNÉRÉ 700 RALLY

Back in mid-May, prior to NSW descending into its protracted lockdown and stifling travel restrictions – Yamaha staged Australia’s first Ténéré 700 Rally – an epic four-day northern NSW adventure for 32 owners of the popular twin-cylinder adventure bike, organised and run by the RideADV crew.

Here’s the link to the seven-minute highlights reel from the ride.

Or if you’re interested in more details about the ride’s route and who was part of the group, here’s a few excerpts from Yamaha Motor Australia’s PR…

Kicking off at the Wauchope Country Club, the four-day adventure covered a variety of challenging terrain and conditions, with special guest and Yamaha legend Stephen Gall and 1988 Finke winner Alan Roe on hand to offer riding tips and advice.

With logistical support from Team Cox in the Mercedes Unimog and the assistance of the RideADV crew, the inaugural Destination Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally was dubbed a huge success. Despite the conditions, there were no breakdowns, no serious injuries and many happy riders eager to join the next Ténéré 700 event.

“The camaraderie on this ride was top shelf,” explained RideADV head honcho, Greg Yager. “Everyone helped each other out when the going got tough. The group really stepped up to the challenging conditions and embraced what turned out to be one of the most memorable adventures we’ve ever run.”
