GET JOINS FORCES WITH TRIUMPH RACING

3 months ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Triumph Racing

For more than a decade, Italian-based electronics company, GET, has been the world’s leading aftermarket Engine Control Unit (ECU) manufacturer, with its products used not only by a swag of factory race teams, but also available over the counter for the rest of us mortals chasing performance gains from our dirt bikes.

Having recently launched their all-new, innovative SX1 PRO ECU range – designed as a plug-and-play replacement ECU for new-generation EFI machines, whether two-stroke or four – GET’s affiliation with the world’s best race teams has been even further cemented, it seems. Interestingly, the two newest motorcycle manufacturers to join the World and/or AMA race scenes – Ducati and Triumph – have both chosen to partner with the electronic wizards at GET. Yep, six months ago, Ducati Corse announced their working partnership with GET; a deal that helped take the Italian brand to their historic 2025 Italian MX Championship title, and will extend into the 2025 MXGP World Championship. And more recently, the Triumph Factory Racing Team (who nabbed their historic first AMA SX victory at Arizona’s Round 4 of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship in the hands of Jordon Smith) has officially announced their new two-year agreement with GET for the 2025 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship and beyond.

Here’s an excerpt from the newly minted Triumph team’s PR about their already fruitful connection with GET…

With Triumph Racing Factory Team enjoying a historic start to the 2025 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship, Triumph is pleased to announce its new, two-year agreement with GET. The exciting technical partnership began during the off-season and the performance advantage provided by the Italian-made components has already reached fruition with Jordon Smith landing on the podium at the first two rounds of 250SX West [and subsequently going on to post an historic win at Round 4 on Feb 1 – Ed].

GET, the electronics division of Athena, is a worldwide leader in the design and production of electronic control units (ECUs) and data acquisition systems for managing internal combustion engines. Using cutting-edge technology, GET creates solutions that optimise engine control, improve data analysis, and redefine performance while ensuring unmatched reliability, even in the toughest conditions.

Founded in 1973, Athena has established itself as a truly global company with nine state-of-the-art facilities across Italy and around the world. As a pioneer in designing and manufacturing technical parts for internal combustion engines, Athena provides innovative solutions for all motorcycle brands including Triumph and its production motocross models – the TF250-X and TF450-RC Edition.

For these reasons, it was an easy decision for Triumph to partner with GET for its US-based racing program. By supplying Triumph Racing Factory Team with its proven components and technical support, all four riders on the squad line up for each race with a distinct advantage, while the team can dive deep into the data to further refine performance, customise power, and ensure maximum durability.

Additionally, the extensive data collected by the team during the 2025 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship will help to refine the electronics found on all of Triumph’s off-road motorcycles.

Marco Mogentale – Chief Operating Officer of GET: “We’re excited to partner with Triumph as it’s an iconic name in the motorcycle world that embodies excellence and performance. Supporting Triumph in their new off-road project is an honour for us, and this collaboration presents an incredible opportunity to showcase our advanced technologies on racing motorcycles. We share the same passion for innovation and reliability, and we look forward to helping the team continue to achieve great success on the track.”

Ian Kimber – Head of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles: “I’m really, really excited about our partnership with GET. This is a company focussed on racing, and its components provide riders and teams with a clear advantage. Already, in our very first race since joining forces with GET, we landed on the podium at round one of the 2025 AMA SuperMotocross campaign. On behalf of the team, we have full confidence in GET’s expertise and the parts it manufactures, which means that together we can focus on racing and chasing wins, podiums, and championships.”
