FIRST LOOK: 2027 BETA RR X-PRO MODELS

1 month ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Beta Motor

It comes as no surprise that Italian manufacturer, Beta, has yet again revealed a host of significant upgrades to their just-revealed 2027 RR X-Pro range of enduro machines. But that doesn’t make it any less impressive. Why do we say that?

Well, unlike most manufacturers – who generally save notable upgrades for their new-gen models every three to four years – Beta has made a habit or bringing changes every single year. And not just changes for the sake of changes, either. Typically, the upgrades are the things on the top of the market’s wishlist. In short, Beta listens to their dealers and customer base and acts on that feedback quicker than pretty much any other dirt bike manufacturer.

Beta’s 2027 RR X-Pro models are another perfect example of that philosophy. Despite the eight-strong RR X-Pro range being completely redesigned and re-positioned just two years ago, Beta still introduced a bunch of upgrades for their 2026 models. And now, for 2027, the X-Pro range has once again copped several significant shared and model-specific changes.

Beta’s 2027 RR X-Pro models are due to arrive in Australian dealers from September, with pricing expected to be announced closer to that time. In the meantime, though, let’s take a deep dive into the changes Beta has announced will appear on these 2027 machines…

Beta’s RR X-Pro range struck a chord with Australian riders following its launch in MY25 – and for MY27, the X-Pro range gets further refinement and even more features. Whether you’re chasing singletrack through the bush, blasting down open firetrails, or wrestling rocky hard enduro lines, there’s no better enduro companion than an RR X-Pro.

Experienced riders have embraced the RR X-Pro’s versatility, thanks to a chassis that can be dialled in with just a few clicks. Newer riders, meanwhile, love the confidence the bike delivers as conditions get tougher. Beta’s RR X-Pro range is rideability at its finest.

For MY27, chassis refinements lift the bike to a new level, catering to an even broader range of riding styles. The two-stroke engines have been further fine-tuned for noticeably stronger power delivery and comfort, while the four-strokes welcome a suite of brand-new electronic updates.

The RR X-Pro range continues to sit squarely between the XTrainer and the race-bred RR Race range. Eight distinct models – four two-strokes and four four-strokes – make up the range, each with its own personality but all sharing one quality: the ability to inspire confidence.

UPDATES SHARED ACROSS 2027 RR X-PRO RANGE

  • NEW GRIPS: Softer compound for reduced fatigue on long days. Better vibration absorption means less arm pump, more comfort, and a stronger connection with the bike when the going gets rough.
  • NEW SPEEDOMETER: A new Trailtech instrument featuring the same information as before, but larger, easier to read and more robust. Paired with a new wheel-speed pick-up sensor for precise, reliable readings.
  • NEW LED HEADLIGHT & SHROUD: A redesigned headlight shroud integrating a robust, latest- generation LED unit. More powerful beam, lower power draw, longer battery life.
  • UPDATED SUSPENSION: The X-Pro’s signature suspension package has been refined with revised settings and new aluminium components that trim weight. Overall bike height stays at 930mm – 20mm lower than the RR Race – so the rider can keep better contact with the ground in everything from weekend trailrides to tight hard enduro lines.
  • SHC (SEPARATE HYDRAULIC CHAMBER) FRONT FORK: The asymmetrical layout carries over – right leg handles spring, left leg handles hydraulics, with roughly 250g of weight saved versus a conventional fork. New MY27 tuning focuses on absorption in the initial part of the stroke (rather than at the end of travel), broadening the fork’s range of use. The result is a setting that stays precise and responsive while delivering noticeably better comfort and ground contact.
  • REAR SHOCK: Specifically developed to work with the new fork tune, the rear shock now gives greater separation between high- and low-speed damping, adjusted via a new tool-free external adjuster. Broader range of use, more comfort, more damping capacity, and sharper sensitivity to settings.

2027 FOUR-STROKE MODELS – UPDATES

For the first time in Beta’s four-stroke range, two technologies straight out of the racing paddock – Launch Control (LC) and Quick Shift (QS) – make their debut on the production bikes:

  • LAUNCH CONTROL: Adjustable across five levels, manages torque delivery off the line for maximum traction from the very first metre, killing stalls and uncontrolled wheelies.
  • QUICK SHIFT: Lets you shift up through the gears without rolling off the throttle, for lightning-quick shifts with no power loss.

Together, they push Beta’s four-stroke tech to a new level, with controls as sharp as those found on full-blown competition bikes. The control panel has been redesigned to house the new LC and QS buttons alongside the proven two-level adjustable Traction Control (TC) and the dual- map switch, and now sits within a freshly styled handlebar protector.

  • VOLTAGE REGULATOR: The MY27 four-strokes get an improved voltage regulator to deliver higher, more stable and more efficient voltage to the battery. The whole wiring harness and components benefit from more consistent and reliable power, and battery charging capacity has been increased – a real plus for long, demanding rides.
  • TITANIUM VALVES: The new four-strokes include titanium valves with a revised finish, raising the bar for durability and reliability.
  • NEW CAM-CHAIN TENSIONER: The tensioner now uses a purely mechanical design (rather than the previous hybrid mechanical-hydraulic system with forced oil passages), paired with a newly calibrated spring. The result is reduced friction, smoother operation, and better starts hot or cold.

2027 TWO-STROKE MODELS – UPDATES

  • NEW MAIN BEARINGS: The 250 and 300cc two-stroke engines get new main bearings that reduce internal friction, smooth out rotation and improve overall mechanical performance.
  • NEW PISTON (125): The 125 receives an updated piston for smoother running, better quality and improved durability.
  • LONGER PRIMARY GEARS (200): The RR200 X-Pro inherits a gearbox update from the Race model and now features lengthened primary gears that optimises load distribution and improves mechanical strength.

BETA RR X-PRO RANGE – KEY FEATURES

While the following features may not be new for 2027, Beta is keen to reinforce that their X-Pro range comes with a host of notable features…

  • FRAME: The main beam with enlarged section (+1cm), first seen on the MY25 X-Pro, is retained for precise, stable cornering and confident power management from hard enduro through to track work.
  • HANDLEBAR RISERS WITH SILENT BLOCKS: Reduce vibration at the main point of contact, for a more comfortable, less fatiguing ride.
  • FRONT LIFT STRAP: The Beta-branded front lift strap stays, true to the X-Pro’s Extreme character.
  • NISSIN BRAKES: Derived from the RX, the front brake calliper is small, light and high-performing, delivering sharp braking.
  • RADIATORS: The 200cc coolant expansion tank inside the frame stays, along with the robust radiators that resist deformation in extreme conditions.
  • ADJUSTABLE EXHAUST VALVE: As on all Beta two-stroke enduros, externally adjustable to dial power delivery to suit rider preference.
  • DIAPHRAGM CLUTCH: Beta’s signature diaphragm-spring clutch returns, with three engagement levels selectable via a simple mechanical adjustment.

2027 X-PRO MODELS – THE TARGET RIDER

TWO-STROKES…

  • 125cc – The smallest, lightest and most manoeuvrable bike in the Beta range. Ideal for younger riders stepping up from smaller capacities, and for experienced riders who just want a fun, flickable bike.
  • 200cc – Chassis and engine derived from the 125 for low weight and superb handling, but with more torque and power. Oil injection and electric start make it a complete package for the enduro enthusiast.
  • 250cc – For riders chasing a two-stroke with slightly less power than the 300, but maximum usability right through the rev range.
  • 300cc – For riders who love big-bore two-strokes with substantial torque everywhere.

FOUR-STROKES…

  • 350cc – The most manoeuvrable four-stroke in the range. Rewards a high-revving riding style with very linear power delivery.
  • 390cc – The ideal blend of manoeuvrability and grunt, with traction as its standout strength.
  • 430cc – A high-performance engine that comes alive when you exploit the longer gears and its impressive torque.
  • 480cc – Best in wide-open terrain. Similar character to the 430 but with even more torque and power, suited to more experienced and physically fit riders.
