BIKES: HUSQVARNA 701 SUPERMOTO

11 years ago | Photos: Husqvarna

The first overview of Husqvarna’s brand new, single-cylinder street model – the 701 Supermoto has been released. The model brand new model is presented in a uniquely Swedish style featuring:

HIGH-TECH POWER AND CONTROL

The 701 SUPERMOTO benefits from a new level of control of the broad power delivery. A ride-by-wire throttle system allows more precise and consistent throttle control, while three engine-mapping setting options allow you to fine-tune the 701’s power delivery for a wide range of possible riding surfaces and weather conditions.

SAFE YET SPORTY STOPPING POWER

Stay safe on the road with the new Bosch 9.1 MP ABS system. Balancing the sportiness with safety and enjoyment. An optional Husqvarna Motorcycles accessories dongle unlocks supermoto ABS, allowing the rear wheel to lock, with full ABS function upfront.

SMOOTH CORNER ENTRY AT ALL TIMES

Minimise the effects of engine-braking and eliminate annoying ‘wheel stutter’. The slipper clutch prevents compression braking under deceleration, while maintaining full traction. Greatly improved safety on the road and quicker lap times on the racetrack.

AN EFFORTLESS RIDING EXPERIENCE

A set of 48 mm upside-down forks by WP Performance Systems with 215 mm of travel graces the 701 supermoto. These easily adjustable forks have separate damping circuits in each fork tube, so compression is damped via the left tube and rebound via the right. With 250 mm of rear wheel travel, the WP pressurised-gas rear shock is pivot-arm articulated and features both high- and low-speed compression adjustments.
