GIVI: ITALIAN SUCCESS STORY

3 weeks ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Andy Wigan, Givi

We take a deep dive into the motorcycle luggage market with Givi’s Joseph Perucca – a passionate Italian motorcyclist whose 40-year journey with Givi has made him one of the global aftermarket industry’s most knowledgeable, philosophical and successful stalwarts.

If you spend any time in adventure, touring or road bike circles, you will have heard of Givi; an Italian brand that’s been around for 45 years and built a reputation for producing a huge range of high-quality, but affordable, luggage solutions for motorcycles, all of which are fully developed and produced inhouse.

But from humble beginnings in the late 1970s, how did this Italian family business become one of the aftermarket industry’s biggest players; with production facilities in Europe, Southeast Asia and South America, a presence in 95 countries around the world, and an extensive product range?

To get an insight into Givi – its engineering capabilities, R&D obsession, business culture, and future aspirations – Transmoto’s Andy Wigan sat down for a chat with Givi’s Joseph Perucca; a fascinating, affable 66-year-old Italian character who, for 40 years, has been instrumental in the worldwide success of Givi’s motorcycle luggage solutions…
