Weekend at the Watagan Rally

It’s been 3 months since the last laps were cut in the Watagan State Forrest for the 14th annual Watagan Trail Bike Rally. If you ask anyone who rode the event, they’re still talking about how epic the trail conditions were over the August 6 weekend.

A record number of just under 700 entrants lapped up the loamy gum-lined singletrail, ridgeline firetrails with sweeping vistas, dense rainforest, long rocky hill climbs, idyllic creek-crossings, picturesque pine forests, and whooped-out sandy gullies that the dirt bike Mecca had to offer.

With the addition of the nicknamed hill climb “Heartbreak Hill” for the more advanced riders, it left a few finding out the hard way how it got its notorious name. Busting up bikes and breaking hearts.

Apart from creating awesome trails, the Watagan Trail Bike Rally teamed up with KTM and Husqvarna to give away a brand new 2017-model enduro machine of their choice. Glen Vincent was the lucky winner walking away with a Husqvarna FE501.
All in all, it was another epic trail bike rally put on by the crew at Powersports Central.
