Chad Reed is going to race at Dallas this weekend. Chad Reed has a broken scapula, a broken collarbone and a broken T1 vertebra, and he is going to race at Dallas this weekend. You can check out the footage of Reedy’s crash here if you missed it. The Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports rider was officially scored 12th at San Diego, having completed 19 laps. He now sits third Overall in the 450SX Class standings, 15 points behind three-time defending SX champ, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto.

A human first, and a rider second. Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen checks up on Reedy just moments after he crashed. These two have a really close bond – in fact, Reed stated via social media a week ago that if he had the budget, he’d be looking to get Roczen under his TwoTwo Motorsports big-rig. Imagine that!

How good was it to see Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart take his 46th Overall career victory, and his first for season 2014, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego over the weekend. Stewart’s been fast this year, and if it wasn’t for that crash at Anaheim 1, he would be right up there in the championship standings. Can he carry this momentum gained through to Texas this weekend? We’ll see…

Australian riders, Matt Moss and Lawson Bopping, both put forth an impressive stint in the US this year. Over the weekend, Mossy claimed his second Semi win, but mechanical issues forced him out of the Main Event. Bopping just missed out on qualifying for his first Main Event appearance. Matt, who’s already signed up with Suzuki here in Australia for 2014, will come more than prepared to defend his MX and SX titles. For Bopping, it’s a completely different story. He rode for CDR Yamaha in 2013, and is yet to lock down a ride. We’re really hoping someone can pick him up. A guy who was running around in the top ten for the majority of last year needs to be on a factory team. Those two Aussies are now at home, and it’s Jackson Richardson and Taylor Potter that will now fly the flag, as the 250SX Eastern Regional series kicks off this weekend in Texas.

Check out this sweet video from Thor MX, checking in with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s hottest young prospect, Adam Cianciarulo. The team expects a title from this man in 2014, and so they should. He’s damn good.

Switching teams in the off-season and limited time on his all-new two-stroke should have counted against Kiwi, Kayne Lamont, but apparently it didn’t. After crushing the competition with a 1-1-2 performance at the opening round of the 2014 New Zealand Motocross Championship, look for the 20-year-old to try and do the same thing when the series heads to his home-track in Tokoroa on February 23. Transmoto‘s Johnny Bonnar caught up with the current MX2 class points-leader while heading home from the first round held in Timaru over the weekend. HQVA’s Greg Chambers has confirmed that Lamont will contest all Aussie MX Nats rounds this year on board a Husky.

Youthstream has announced that the fifth round of the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship will take place at Sevlievo in Bulgaria, over the weekend of April 20. Take a look at the updated calendar below.

The 2014 East Coast MX series, presented by Transmoto Dirt Bike Magazine, kicked off over the weekend at Lakes MCC in NSW. It was an awesome weekend – it didn’t even rain (like it did at the majority of ECMX rounds last year). The next round will take place at the ACT MCC, March 8-9. Full results from the event can be found here.

CDR Yamaha riders, Chris Hollis and Daniel Milner lead the charge heading into the second round of the three-round 2014 KTM Australian Enduro-X Nationals, to be held at Parramatta Raceway on Saturday. The duo dominated the opening round close to two weeks ago, ahead of KTM’s Toby Price and Peter Boyle, and Active8 Yamaha’s Stefan Granquist. There have been a few interesting features added to the course this time around, including a rock pool and a water fountain. To get you pumped for this weekend’s Enduro-X round, check out R!DE HQ’s highlights package from the opening round, that took place at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway on February 2. We’ve known this for quite some time, but the powers at HQVA would have kicked our asses if we spilled the beans any sooner than they would have liked. For 2014, the new-look Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team will consist of Glenn Kearney (who will also manage the team), Lachy Stanford, Scott Keegan and support rider, Damian Smith. The team will make their official debut on board their all-new machinery at the Enduro-X on Saturday. US import, Husky-mounted Mike Brown, will also pit with the Aussie side this weekend. The crew at Transmoto spent a few days riding with the boys last week, and we shot a small video with the team. It’ll be online tomorrow.

As mentioned, Husqvarna-backed extreme enduro racing specialist and former AMA motocross champion, Mike Brown, has touched down in Australia in preparation for this weekend’s Enduro-X round. The 41-year-old American has been in the country less than a day, but in the company of Glenn Kearney and Toby Price, he’s already enjoying the local dirt bike culture and attitudes. “It’s totally different to the US,” said Brown. “It’s so serious there. Here, everybody wants to have a good time and enjoy themselves as well as race the bikes. It’s more fun.” And where’s Brown staying while he’s out here? “I don’t even know where I’m staying yet,” laughed Brown. “I’m with Toby, so wherever he goes. He says we’re staying in a swag, whatever that is – probably out in the bush or something!” Oh lord…

Winner of the Women’s division at the first round of the 2014 KTM Australian Enduro-X Nationals was Jess Gardiner, who this year, will juggle a full season of racing in Australia (Enduro-X, AORC rounds, A4DE and selected one-off events) with contesting the 2014 Enduro World Championship. When in Australia, Jess will represent the Ballards Motorex Offroad team with the support of Sherco Australia. Jess is also the first-ever Aussie female to sign with a factory off-road team in Europe. The official race team name is yet to be announced, but she will be under the all-new Sherco Team Azzalin banner. Go get ’em, girl!

Australia’s Matt Phillips has signed with Fist Handwear for season 2014! On Friday, a wicked video welcoming him to the #FISTARMY produced by Bret Trigg Visual will drop exclusively on our website. Check out this image gallery shot by Lee Popowski to get you amped for the clip’s release.
