TESTED: 2022 KTM 250SX TWO-STROKE

5 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Made Social

There weren’t supposed to be any two-strokes at the recent KTM Media Ride Day, where we got the opportunity to sample the Austrian manufacturer’s 2022-model motocross machines. But we’re sure glad there was. And it didn’t take long for Transmoto test rider, Dean Ferris, to spot the 2022 250SX sitting backstage and insist he cut some laps on the thing. Having taken a shining to KTM’s incredible versatile 300EXC TPI enduro bike over the past few months as he and his young family have been travelling, living and working out of a motorhome, Ferris clearly has a renewed appreciation for KTM’s two-stroke machinery.

So, listen up as the multiple Australian MX Champion dishes up a bunch of interesting insights about this 250cc MXer. The KTM Media Ride Day’s test track may have plenty of big booters, but how smooth and effortless does Ferris look aboard the 250cc two-dinger? Dude makes that thing sing!
