Team Triumph successfully completes the 2011 APC Rally
After more than 7000 gruelling kilometres, Team Triumph successfully completed the 2011 APC Rally in 12 days, two days earlier than the 14 days allotted to complete the race.
Riding four bikes, Team Triumph Australia consisted of two Triumph Australia representatives, Steve Chiodo and Brendon Roberts, the TeamMoto Virginia Dealer Principle, MIchael Oliver, magazine journos, Mick Matherson and Trevor Hedge, and Triumph Tiger 800 XC owner, Wayne Croaker.
Enjoying some of Australia’s best adventure touring routes combined, the team travelled the Hattah Desert, the Border Track, Big Red, Birdsville, Innamincka, Emmaville, Woodenbong and down some challenging sections of the Great Dividing Range in NSW.

Triumph Australia’s Brendon Roberts, on his return to the office, is already looking at next year’s event and another chance to get back in the saddle. “This was a rally we were very excited to be involved in, the bike’s a stand out, we already knew that from our recent press launches and from the thousands of kilometres of riding we undertook to learn firsthand about the bike in our unique Australian environment. This was an opportunity, above all, to ride the bike in an environment we hadn’t yet personally experienced, and in turn let our customers in on what has been a fantastic experience and let’s be honest a tremendous amount of fun.”
“It’s more than just riding bikes out there, it’s the diversity in terrain, the wildlife, the place and the people you meet along the way. An event like the APC Rally is an perfect reflection on why this market segment is growing so rapidly, for me nothing matches it for pure enjoyment on every level.”
