PRODUCT REVIEW: IXON GRAVEL AIR GLOVES

3 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Jarrad Duffy

Take a gander at just how many different types of gloves Ixon offer, and you’ll soon realise that this French brand and motorcycle gloves go way, way back! They make everything from $70 hipster-pleasing perforated leather mitts to $440 adventure-touring specimens with Bluetooth-adjustable heat settings! And sitting somewhere in the middle that smorgasbord of five-fingered friends is an all-new model from Ixon called the Gravel Air.

What we really liked about the design concept of the Gravel Air is that it’s a hybrid glove; produced to help MX, enduro and trailriders (in other words, riders who’re accustomed to thinner, moto-spec gloves) make the transition to adventure riding without feeling like they need to give away a heap of handlebar-control dexterity in the process. Which, to be fair, is what many riders feel when they strap on a pair of full-blown adventure or touring gloves for the first time.

So, after wearing these Gravel Air gloves for a few months, here’s what jumped out at us about them…
