Motonomad: Tickets Selling Out Fast

Film producer, Motology’s Adam Riemann, turned his passion of dirt bike riding and filming into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with his best mate, Mark Portbury. The duo’s 7000km extreme off-road mission from the grassy hills of Austria to the political turmoil of the Middle East is all captured in the new feature-length film, Motonomad.

“The concept was pretty crazy, more so for the fact Cairo erupted into a civil massacre about a month before we were due to get there,” explains Riemann. “That and the ongoing war in Syria meant we had no safe passage – or ferry transit – to even get to Egypt from Turkey.”

Avoiding Syria, they cunningly find a way across the Mediterranean and venture into the aftermath of the Cairo massacre. Despite military confrontation, they defy the odds and make it inside the ancient compound of the Pyramids. But triumph turns to treachery as they continue into one of the Middle East’s most lawless regions, the Sinai Peninsula, where they put their lives further at risk.

Motonomad isn’t just a motorcycle adventure; it’s a story of discovery, friendship and the undeniable power of chance.

Helping bring to life Riemann’s life-long dream of screening his work at a cinema is Transmoto.

“Much like the iconic 1971 motorcycle documentary, On Any Sunday, or Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s Long Way Around/Down epics since, Motonomad‘s sheer audacity and spirit of adventure promises to bring it mainstream appeal,” says Transmoto‘s Managing Editor, Andy Wigan.

“Incredibly, Motonomad was created without a support crew, without ‘fixers’ to assist with border crossings, and without a production posse back home,” continued Wigan. “Motonomad was filmed, edited and produced entirely by the two guys who also feature in it; two Australian dirt bike enthusiasts who carried their camera gear on their backs through some of the most extreme and politically-charged terrain on the planet. It’s a landmark film, which is whyTransmoto got behind Motology’s Adam Riemann to make this world big-screen premiere at the Orpheum Cinema a reality.”

The world premiere of a special director’s cut of Motonomad will be screened at the Cremorne Orpheum on Thursday, September 11, at 8:30PM. No matter whether you’re a dirt bike enthusiast or simply appreciate the lure of adventure, this movie is a must watch. The premiere will also feature a Q&A with Adam Riemann and door prizes.
