JOSH STRANG’S 2010 GNCC TITLE WIN

3 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Mark Kariya, Shan Moore

How good was it to see Australia’s Josh Strang take the win the final round of America’s premier off-road series, the GNCC, a few weeks back at Ironman Raceway in Indiana?! It capped off the humble Aussie’s 17th season racing the GNCC in the USA in style, 13 years after he won the GNCC’s coveted No.1 plate in 2010! And this season’s Ironman win notched up Strang’s 25th Overall victory – a milestone that elevates him to fifth in all-time GNCC wins.

According to comments Strang made in a recent Steve Matthes Show podcast, the Aussie off-road warrior doesn’t yet have a deal sorted for the 2024 season, but feels like he’s got a few more good racing years in him yet. All of which got us talking about the memorable interview Transmoto’s USA-based GNCC correspondents, Mark Kariya and Shan Moore, did with the 22-year-old Josh Strang back in 2010, as he homed in on his maiden GNCC title after already winning the opening four rounds of the season. It makes for fascinating reading!
