In Transmoto Weekly No.4
This is _In Transmoto Weekly #4_. The concept is to bring you up to date with all the lead news stories and articles from the website and even a couple of juicy tid-bits from around the office. So if you’re flat out all week and can’t spare the time to catch up daily, look out for In Transmoto Weekly every Friday.
It has been an interesting week here at Transmoto_. We got _Transmoto Issue #7 in the office and as you can see she is completely different to any cover we’ve run so far. It’s quite a little beauty, too. We’ve got a stack of great features and quality pics that you’ve come to know and expect. Plus, who can go past an Aussie motocross legend, like Chad Reed, on the cover? Transmoto Editor, Andy Wigan, couldn’t…
Keep your eyes out next week for the online magazine companion content that compliments our magazine features. Every time you see the at the end of a feature you know there will be something cool online to check out. All you have to do is click on the Issue #7 Content on the homepage to check it out. Don’t see it right now? I know. The Transmoto 12-Hour button has temporarily taken over, but never fear. It will be back on Wednesday, February 16, to coincide with the magazine on-sale.
Speaking of the 12-Hour, today is your very last day to pick up a free $50 gift voucher from Teknik! So if you’ve been thinking about entering, but haven’t taken advantage of this cool offer yet, then be quick and register right now. Come tomorrow and our early bird special is done and dusted. Never heard of this Transmoto 12-Hour business before? That’s alright. We’ve setup a dedicated web page to fill you in.
If you are an avid follower of Transmoto you would know the Thursday Throwdown returned last week. Although, it was a bumpy ride getting it online and it nearly became the Friday Throwdown — I know, it doesn’t sound nearly as cool — but we just wanted to make sure we got all the good stuff for you. Take a look at this week’s article which was chocked full of heaps of behind-the-scenes news, facts, rumours and innuendo that will surely quench your moto thirst.
Ryan Marmont returned from the States this week to prepare for the up-and-coming Australia Motocross Championships. So we got him on the blower and found out about all his adventures in the USA. If you haven’t been following, this guy was smashing it up in the AMA Supercross series, having qualified in all five rounds he competed in for the Lites class and finished in the top 10 in three of those rounds. When we talked to him he sounded like he would have loved to race the entire season, saying ‘just when I was finding my feet and getting comfortable I had to leave. It was a hard pill to swallow, really’. Read the full interview to find out more.
Lets talk that cool hot pink gear that Chad Reed was wearing at Anaheim 2. It’s up for grabs on eBay at the moment. Along with a bunch of other gear from a range of riders, including Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, Brett Metcalfe, Casey Hinson, Andrew Short, Davi Millsaps, Eli Tomac, Jason Hussey, Justin Brayton, Ken Roczen, Kevin Windham, Kyle Chisholm, Kyle Cunningham, Kyle Regal, Matt Boni, Mike Alessi, Carey Hart, Ryan Villopoto, Ivan Tedesco, Trey Canard, Fabien Izoird, Chris Blose and Travis Pastrana. Take a look.
We said goodbye to our long-term test bike, the 2010 Husqvarna TE510, this week. We gave it a good send-off at Australia’s most prestigious landmark, the Birthplace of modern Australia.
At the start of the week we talked with TM Electraction Enduro rider, Josh Green, before he heads back over to Europe to prepare for the Enduro World Championship.
You saw the “Day with Jay” gallery, and now take a look at what 16-year-old Sam Davie thought about when he spent the day with Australia’s current Australian Motocross Champion, Jay Marmont. Kids, just imagine spending a day with your hero. What would you get up to?
Finally, finish your Friday with some cool videos in our Friday Video Fix. There’s some amateur footage of the Nitro Circus’ Aaron Fotheringham doing a front and back flip in his wheelchair. Ken Roczen ripping around the supercross track on his KTM 350SX-F, practising for the Opens this weekend. And, some very cool shots of the Weston Beach Race shot in black and white.
You know, we didn’t get many comments last week in regards to the question ‘Where is the most beautiful and exotic place you’ve ever ridden?’. We had mxracer say it was Fraser Island and apolloseventeen mention something about tearing it up on the Husky 510. So this week we’ve got a bit of an incentive. The best response will take home Robbie Maddison’s signature series Vendetta Dragon goggle. Not a member? No worries. It is super easy to register and will only take you a few minutes.
So “What’s your thoughts about 16-year-old Ken Roczen riding on the KTM 350SX-F in the Supercross class after only 5 rounds of the AMA Supercross, and in his rookie year?”.
That is a wrap. See you next week.
