FMX Star, Levi Sherwood, injured
Levi Sherwood hit the deck hard at this weekend’s ASA FMX World Championship in California and found himself with a dislocated wrist and badly broken femur. “The Rubber Kid” has been killing it this year and was edged out for silver by Travis Pastrana at X Games 16.
In the contest’s first round of competition, 18 year-old Levi Sherwood (Palmerston, North New Zealand) set off on what spectators described as an “epic” run, displaying the innovation and extension that earned him a silver medal at the X Games earlier this year. Then, upon hitting a set of the course’s double-doubles he miss-stepped and accidently shifted his bike into neutral, leaving him without power to do his next trick. He landed hard and injured his right leg and right wrist.
