Canberra Motorcycle Club hosted the opening round of the East Coast MX Series last weekend. With a fair bit of rain during the week, the muddy conditions were tough for the competitors on Saturday but the track formed up prime for racing on Sunday.

Lochlainn Reddy rode his Cobra 50cc to victory in the 7-8 50cc class, but KTM claimed a majority of the podiums for the weekend.
KTM rider, Jack Deveson, absolutely destroyed the opposition in the 9-11 65cc and 9-11 85cc classes winning six out of six races by a considerable margin.
KTM rider, Jyle Campbell, was on point with his starts in the muddy conditions, he got out front and stayed clean with a clear track in front of him and won two out of three races to take the overall in the 12-15 85cc class.
KTM rider, Connor Rossandich, battled with Ryder Kingsford and claimed the top step of the podium in the 13-15 250 4-stroke class and finished second in the 13-15 125cc class.

In the senior classes, KTM rider, Josh Whitehead, dominated all four motos as did Jess Moore in the Senior Women. Levi Lane rode his KTM to the top step of the podium in the 250 Clubman class.

The series promoter, Michel Constantinou, summed up Round 1 by saying, “We’ve had everything thrown at us for Round 1, but we came out on top. I’m positive about the rest of the rounds and the future of East Coast MX.”
