DUCATI DESMO450 MX DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES

2 years ago | Words: Matt Bernard | Photos: Ducati

The development of the Ducati Desmo450 MX, ridden by Alessandro Lupino, continued in the third round of the Italian Motocross Championship at Montevarchi. After a victorious debut in Mantua last March, the prototype is progressing toward a full range of off-road motorcycles set for production in 2025.

Despite a forced retirement in the first heat due to contact with another rider while in third position, Lupino secured second place in the second moto. This performance helped him consolidate his third place in the championship standings.

The Montevarchi race provided Ducati engineers with valuable data to support the Desmo450 MX’s development. The next round is scheduled for 22-23 June at Ponte a Egola, where testing will continue with the involvement of Lupino and Tony Cairoli.
