R&D REVELATIONS: DUCATI’S 2027 DESMO450 EDS

Multiple World Enduro Champion, Antione Meo, opens up to Transmoto about what it took to develop Ducati’s first ever enduro bike, the 2027 Desmo450 EDS.

How on earth does a manufacturer go from a clean sheet of paper to its first ever enduro bike? What’s the process look like? Who gets to define the model’s design philosophy and choose its component spec? And what determines the bike’s final settings it uses, and when it’s ready to go into production?

At the recent international media launch in Italy, Transmoto’s Andy Wigan posed those questions to multiple World Enduro Champion, Antione Meo, the chief R&D test pilot for Ducati’s Desmo450 EDS. Aside from the fact Ducati’s first enduro bike has been the mercurial Meo’s passion project for the past five years, Meo also let slip that Ducati’s Desmo250 EDS will go into production next year…
