This weekend, the iconic Green Park circuit based at Conondale, Queensland, will roar back to life when the venue hosts Round 3 of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals. This year the Sunshine Coast Motorcycle Club, alongside Williams Event Management, have worked harder than ever to ensure the event is a great success. The picturesque motocross track that sits amongst the grassy rolling hills has been prepped and dialled in for this weekend’s third instalment of the MX Nats. This Sunday’s racing is set to be epic, with more than 100 riders set to take to the track in the Thor MX1, Motul MX2 and Pirelli MXD classes plus the 125cc Gold Cup support class.

With Australia’s best MXers headed for the venue, Sunshine Coast Motorcycle Club President, Steve Harrison, expressed that plenty of hard work has gone into the preparation of the event: “The Sunshine Coast Motorcycle Club has been very busy over the past few months to groom and prepare the iconic Green Park track at Conondale in preparation for the MX Nationals,” Harrison shared. “Conondale is known to many riders as one of the premier outdoor natural terrain tracks in Australia, and with recent rainfall, Green Park is looking extra green. We will have three grandstands for spectators to view from, a bar, and food available for fans, plus with big hills, fast wide open straights, and of course the infamous Drunks Hill, it’s sure to make for a great day’s racing.”

Motul MX Nationals Series Promoter, Kevin Williams, said that after two successful rounds of the championship so far this season, he is predicting the Conondale circuit will be just as impressive. “We have just come off the back of two fantastic rounds of the championship in New South Wales and Victoria so we are very excited to be heading north to Conondale in Queensland this weekend,” Williams shared. “Conondale is a track which is truly unique – when you drive into the venue, you’re welcomed by an impressive motocross track surrounded by lush Green Park rolling hills, and for fans, it really is one of the most picturesque tracks on the 2017 calendar.
“This weekend we have three championship classes – the Thor MX1, Motul MX2 and Pirelli MXD categories – racing, as well as the 125cc Gold Cup support class featuring the likes of Husqvarna’s Cody Mackie. Spectators can expect riders to be hanging it all out this weekend and putting on a real show for those trackside,” williams went on to say.
