Conondale Classic Weekend Cancelled

Probably not a surprise in this current environment, but the long running get together of vintage bike lovers at the iconic Green Park, Conondale has been shelved for 2020. Having worked with the Sunshine Coast club to run our Transmoto 6-Hour Enduro for the past five years, they are a very professional outfit and this certainly wasn’t an easy call to make. We wish them all the best as they continue to run awesome events for a wide range of moto genres at their club track.

The official statement from the Sunshine Coast MCC as follows;

The Sunshine Coast MCC would like to sincerely apologise to the vintage riding community with the announcement that the Classic Weekend 2020 will be cancelled due to COVID-19 and will run on 11-13 June, 2021, next year at the legendary Green Park, Conondale.

The option to postpone till later in 2020 was not feasible as SCMCC’s schedule is locked with other events, plus Green Park’s conditions are best for vintage riding in June, which is something the SCMCC do not want to compromise and prefer to cancel and ensure 2021 is bigger and better.

“We thank all the off-road riding community for the support and hope we can all ride together after the Coronavirus pandemic has passed,” said SCMCC President Rod Heading.

“The SCMCC will try to host a community ride day when restrictions are lifted later in 2020 for riders of all bikes and ages. It’s a really tough time for individuals, businesses and families. Clubs like ours want to be here on the other side for everyone to share a ride and smile, doing what we love together for our physical and mental health.”

REFUNDS: 2020 Classic Weekend tickets purchased will automatically be refunded by SCMCC this week.

The SCMCC would like to thank their generous partners including MX Store, Shannons, Print Craft, Link International, Maleny IGA, Gall Brothers, ADB Magazine, Metalink, Transmoto, RAM Inc, Maico at Chippys, Spray Con and Performance Thumpers.

Stay safe and support your riding community.
