BETA UNVEILS NEW CROSS-COUNTRY MODEL

3 weeks ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Betamotor

Given that Beta has doubled down on its commitment to the motocross segment in recent years – with the significantly updated 2025-model RX450 4T, RX300 2T, and the all-new RX250 and RX350 two-stroke MX models that Beta revealed would be added to their line-up of production MXers for 2026 – it made perfect sense that the Italian manufacturer would soon look to release a cross-country model (or three); a hybrid of their existing MX and enduro models for the growing number of trail and enduro riders who like to cut some laps around a motocross track on occasion (or who simply want a lightweight, race-ready weapon for enduro racing). Well, late last week, Beta made the rumours official – not only revealing the existence of the all-new “RC450” 4T cross-country model, but also confirming that they had just arrived on dealer floors in Oz for a Rideaway price of $15,295 (a $500 premium over its RX450 MX cousin).

So, could this RC450 be just the first of a slew of new cross-models in the coming years? Don’t bet against it because Beta has never been shy of offering up a veritable smorgasbord of model options*. Meantime, here’s the PR we received from Beta Australia about this landmark maiden cross-country machine, the 2025 RC450…

Beta Motorcycles Australia is pleased to announce an additional MY2025 model to its already impressive line-up, the Beta RC450 4T. Based on the success of the RX450 4T motocross model, the RC450 4T shares the same proven and durable platform, with specific features added to create a true 450cc 4T cross-country race bike.

The 450cc engine and five-speed gearbox provides a power delivery that’s perfect for all-round use. And paired with the renowned KYB AOS closed-cartridge 48mm fork, KYB 50mm shock, and lightweight yet strong aluminium subframe, the Beta RC450 is built from the ground up to deliver serious performance.

The RC450 4T is equipped with an 18-inch rear wheel, 9L fuel tank, hand guards, Race-model radiator shrouds, formed plastic skidplate, and an O-ring chain to complete the package.

FEATURES

  • Exhaust: High-performance exhaust by HGS.
  • Chassis: Chromoly single-tube frame with aluminium rear subframe.
  • Brakes: Nissin master cylinders and calipers with discs measuring 260mm at the front and 240mm at the rear.
  • Battery: Lightweight high-performance lithium.
  • Fork and Shock: KYB 48mm closed-cartridge front fork with a 50mm KYB rear shock with rising-rate linkage system.
  • 18” rear wheel: Specific for off-road use.
  • Ignition Map switch (including traction control): Two positions, (Sun or Rain), which adjusts the engine power as needed. Traction control provides less rear-wheel slip while in First or Second gear.
  • Hand Guards: Providing protection from the trees and sticks.
  • Clutch: “Easy-Pull” diaphragm clutch with three different settings that allow the rider to adjust the lever feel and progression to his or her liking.

Beta’s all-new RC450 4T cross-country model is available now via Beta dealers nationwide at an Off-Road Ride Away price (including GST) of $15,295.

Note: The RC450 4T is not road registrable in Australia.

BETA’S OFF-ROAD MODEL SMORGASBORD!

You can’t accuse Beta of short-changing consumers when it comes to choice. Just do the math on their model line-up for 2025. In addition to their two MX machines, the RX450 and RX300, Beta also offers the unique Xtrainer 250 and 300, an eight-model RR X-Pro range, and an eight-model RR Race range. That’s 20 different models, covering everything from a 125cc two-stroke to a 480cc four-stroke (and that tally doesn’t even include Beta’s Trial bikes, or their swag of smaller-capacity Enduro and Motard models that are available in other markets around the world!).

For 2026, we know that two more MXers – the all-new RX250 and RX350 two-stroke MX models – will be added to that list. Now, on top of that, it sounds like we can expect to see a growing range of RC (cross-county) models join Italian machinery fray. Sounds like Beta is going to need a bigger boat!
