TESTED: BETA’S 2026 ENDURO MODELS

2 weeks ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: Made Social

When Beta first announced its eight-model 2025 “RR X-Pro” range late last year, it was clear they were much more than just rebranded versions of their predecessors. Specifically designed with a 20mm lower seat height and sweeping changes to frame and suspension and bodywork, these all-new RR X-Pro machines were very intentionally repositioned as a better ‘middle-ground’ between Beta’s XTrainer and RR Race model-ranges – and to suit a broader cross-section of riders and terrain. And after testing those 2025 XTrainer, RR X-Pro and RR Race bikes back-to-back, we concluded that Beta had done a damn good job of more clearly delineating each of their three enduro ranges from one another – in terms of looks, component spec and performance, and the type of rider each was targeting.

But have those performance relativities changed for 2026, now that all three of Beta’s ranges have come in for a bunch of small but significant changes in the name of both performance and durability? Has the headline upgrade for Beta’s 2026 enduro bikes – an all-new short-stroke 250cc two-stroke engine that’s used across the three ranges – bolstered the appeal of the often-underrated 250cc two-stroke models? And are Beta’s 2026 price differentials for all these models now about right, based on their component spec and capabilities?

At the recent media launch for Beta’s 2026 XTrainer, RR X-Pro and RR Race models, we teamed up with Aussie enduro doyen, Geoff Ballard, to answer those questions – and to help you figure out which of Beta’s 18-strong line-up of 2026 enduro models is best suited to you.
