McDonald Finishes Fourth in Buckwheat 100

Australian AORC racer, Danielle McDonald made another quick trip to the US to contest round 10 of the US GNCC with the AmPro Yamaha team.

In the typically American named event, the Buckwheat 100, McDonald just missed the podium in
wet and sloppy conditions. This was the third trip to the US for McDonald as she continues to expose herself at an international level and the mud seems to follow her with each event she has contested in the US being damp under foot.

“It would be nice to come over here and do a race in good conditions, but I cant change the
weather,” McDonald laughs at the end of racing. “The weekend went pretty well for me, although in conditions like this, there are always plenty of mistakes and near misses. Last time I was here, things didn’t go so well as I got bogged and crashed, so it was nice to get a good result this time. “I think I still can still go better and every time I’m here, I feel a little more comfortable.”

McDonald also leads the Women’s division in the AORC, over her team mate and team manager,
Jess Gardiner with just one weekend remaining. That is set for September 14 and 15 and from
there is over to Spain for the ISDE to represent Australia.
