2019 Gas Gas: EC/XC Upgrades

Recently released information from Urban Moto Imports (UMI), Australian distributors for Gas Gas motorcycles, reveals that the Spanish brand’s 2019 EC (enduro) and XC (cross-country) models get significant mods to frame, suspension, engine, electrical system, bodywork and graphics.
We look forward to throwing a leg over these 2019 Gassers next week – when UMI stages the Australian media launch for the bikes in Victoria – so keep an eye out for our feedback in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, here’s a bullet-point snapshot of the 2019 updates to Gasser’s EC and XC models, followed by UMI’s PR about the new bikes.

EC & XC MODELS – 2019 UPGRADES

  • Redesigned cylinder head (EC/XC300).
  • Updated exhaust porting and 36mm Keihin carb (EC/XC200).
  • Refined electric-start system, and new electrical componentry.
  • New tapered Neken handlebars with redesigned bar mounts for improved strength and rigidity.
  • New bar-mounted dual-map switch with “Rain/Sun” ignition maps.
  • Refined instrument mounts.
  • Updated graphics.
  • Frameguards are now red (they were black) to match the frame paint.
  • Updated airbox cover.

ACCORDING TO UMI…

After a successful launch of the new Gas Gas enduro range last year, the prestigious dirt-bike brand takes another step forward in the evolution of enduro motorcycles with the launch of the new 2019 EC and XC models.

The highly competitive EC enduro and XC cross-country models renew their image by incorporating improvements in the frame, suspension, engine and the electrical system. The Spanish brand also updates the looks of its enduro bikes, keeping intact the wild, attractive line of its unmistakable off-road two-stroke models.

The evolution of the range of Gas Gas enduro motorcycles has managed to adapt like no other to the demands of the toughest of disciplines, growing until it has become the best version of itself, a true dirt-bike symbol – a versatile, powerful, resistant, all-terrain machine designed to meet the needs of today’s enduro rider, whatever their level. The updated livery includes a special new graphic design, keeping red as the emblematic colour of the brand and introducing new black and white strokes.

With a dry weight just over 100kg, the new range is positioned as one of the lightest bikes on the market, showing improvements in its engine, frame and suspension. In addition to its improved electrical system, there comes a new starter with a greater capacity battery system, and the addition of the double-switch engine map for altering dry or wet terrains. The updated engine for both the 250cc and 300cc models provide an increase in thermodynamic performance and power, achieving a more linear delivery of torque throughout the rev range.

The new 2019 Gas Gas Enduro range is made up of the EC300/250/200 versions and the XC300/250/200 cross-country models. The EC250 and EC300 will be the first to arrive in Australia at Gas Gas dealerships at the end of September, with the XC250 & XC300 expected to arrive in October.

Here’s the Australian pricing and ETA for Gas Gas’ 2019 EC and XC models:

  • XC200 $10,990 (Arriving: TBC)
  • XC250 $11,690 (Arriving: Oct, 2018)
  • XC300 $11,990 (Arriving: Oct, 2018)
