YCF REVEALS 2022 FUN-BIKE MODEL RANGE

3 years ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: YCF Motorcycles

In the lead-up to Christmas last year, we showcased what we called a “smorgasbord” of fun-bike models produced by French manufacturer, YCF, along with a snapshot of how their key models stacked up against some of the most popular kids/fun bikes on the market. That comparison made it pretty damn clear the YCFs were very competitive, from both component spec and pricing points of view. And that was reflected in the brand’s solid sales growth here in Oz, which was no doubt helped along by having former Pro riders – guys such as Ricky Carmichael, Mike Alessi and Blake Wharton – as YCF brand ambassadors.

Despite already having a 25-model line-up (which ranges from 50cc beginner bikes to 190cc racers), YCF is evidently not content to rest on their laurels because they’ve just revealed an updated model range for 2022.

According to YCF Australia’s Nic Gow, “For 2022, we’re bringing back our most popular models and updating others to help continue the growth currently being seen in the kids’ bike and fun bike markets. We are also continuing our partnership with Zip Money; to make owning a YCF even more affordable by offering an unbeatable 20 months interest-free across the entire YCF range as a standing offer. It doesn’t get much better than that!”

Here is YCF’s snapshot of the updates made to its 2022 model range…

‘50CC’ MODELS

Our 50cc range returns with three colour options (including the ever-popular pink!) in the 50A petrol and the 50E electric. These bikes continue to be our best-selling model, being built specifically with young riders in mind. It features USD forks, rear mono shock, hydraulic disc brakes, full coverage chain guard and user-friendly single-speed electric-start 49cc four-stroke engine. Aimed at kids aged three to eight years old, it is lightweight at just 42kg for the 50A petrol, and only 36kg for the electric 50E. Alongside the low weight, both models come standard with adjustable throttle to help with the learning process. We also offer a remote kill switch (petrol only) and height-adjustable training wheels – great for young riders just starting out who might not quite be able to touch the ground yet!

‘START’ MODELS

Our START range is back and covers riders from six years and up. Bike options including F88SE, F110SE and F125SE + E in either semi-automatic (SE) or manual clutch (E). Our entire START range comes standard with electric-start four-stroke engines, great suspension, hydraulic brakes and in multiple colour options in the Start F88SE and Start F110SE.

‘PILOT’ MODELS

Our PILOT range has been jolted to life this year, with both the 125cc and 150cc Pilot models receiving electric-start as standard. Something that dealers and customers have been asking for, so we have delivered; further cementing the PILOT range as the personification of the term ‘fun bike’!

‘BIGY’ MODELS

Our BIGY range also saw some simplification and improvements, now offering three variants: including 125cc, 150cc and 190cc, each tailored to their target market. The BIGY F125SEL comes from the factory with a semi-automatic four-speed, four-stroke 125cc engine and the party piece is the factory-lowered suspension, which brings the seat height down to a very friendly 820mm. This makes it the perfect bike for teens and adults who might be new to the dirt or are simply look for an easy bike to ride around on. Next is the BIGY F150E MX, which for 2022 has received an updated, more powerful 150cc engine to match its big-wheel performance! Last but certainly not least is the BIGY F190 FACTORY DAYTONA, our range-topping bike built with range-topping parts! This includes ENGI suspension front and rear, aluminium swingarm, CNC hubs and the four-valve Daytona Anima 190cc race engine!

‘FACTORY’ MODELS

We of course still have our race-ready small-wheel bikes in the FACTORY range, our factory Supermoto SM range and of course the flat track SUNDAY MOTORS range!

More information about the full 2022 YCF range can be found on http://www.ycf-riding.com.au/. First stock of these new models began landing in Australia in early February.
