Yamaha’s YZ65 Cup Kicks Off

8 years ago | Words: Yamaha Motor Australia | Photos: Yamaha Motor Australia

Yamaha Motor Australia will be hosting a two-day race in conjunction with Rounds 7 & 8 of the MX Nationals. If you’ve got one of Yamaha’s sweet new YZ65s sitting in your garage this is your opportunity to bust it out and race on in front of a national crowd. Plus, if you’re one of the 30 entrants you’ll be able to pit under the Yamaha bLU cRU truck with mechanical assistance from factory technicians. So what are you waiting for? Here’s the official news from Yamaha Motor Australia:

The YZ65 Cup is the newest race event developed for Yamaha Motor Australia’s bLU cRU members, the first event will take place at Ranch MX near Raymond Terrace, at Round 7 & 8 of the MX Nationals on July 14-15, 2018. Taking place on both days, this event is a money-can’t-buy experience of racing in front of a national crowd. And best of all – YMA is covering entry for riders and general admission for one parent/guardian.
Yamaha dealers in NSW have been asked to invite a rider to represent them. Rider numbers will be capped at 30 entrants who will ride a practice and race on Sat, July 14 with two races on Sunday, July 15.
YMA’s aim is to offer a full bLU cRU race experience. Riders will be able to pit under the bLU cRU truck awning, with assistance from Yamaha factory technicians. Each rider will receive a bLU cRU hoody and hat and all racers and family members are invited to join our factory teams at a bLU cRU BBQ on Sat evening – all free of charge. More unique activities will be announced closer to the event.

YMA will film and capture high res images of the event which we anticipate to be a super fun weekend aimed at driving excitement around the bLU cRU and the new YZ65. Details of further events will be announced in due course. Interested riders are asked to contact their local NSW Yamaha dealer before Wed, June27. Note that all competitors must have a Junior National Competition Licence to enter.
“The YZ65 Cup aims to offer a great experience for new bLU cRU members as they take the first step on the victorYZone ladder,” says YMA’s National Sales and Marketing Manager Matt Ferry. Our young guns will feel like factory racers with their unique position in the pits next to legends like Craig Dack and world-class racers like Dean Ferris. Only Yamaha can offer the experience of being mentored by the nation’s top race teams and it’s one that we hope will live long in the memory. Our goal is to make our newest bLU cRU members feel part of the family so they remain customers for life,” he adds.

Following successful state-based demo days, YMA is offering the opportunity for the newest bLU cRU members to compete at national MX/SX events on their YZ65s.
