YAMAHA RETAIN AUSTRALIAN TOP SPOT
Yamaha Motor Australia has continued to secure the top spot on the Australian retail charts, as the brand continues its dominance as the country’s leading motorcycle brand. Following a #1 finish across the whole of 2024, Yamaha has carried its momentum into the first half of 2025 and outperformed the overall market with strong and diverse sales.
The result reflects the support of loyal Yamaha customers and the commitment of high-performing dealer partners nationwide. In every major category, Yamaha is outstripping the broader market whilst reaffirming its position as Australian rider’s brand of choice. In addition to the below, nine of the top 20 units sold outright are Yamaha, highlighting their strong demand.

• YZF-R7L and YZF-R3A #2 and #3 selling Supersport models outright
• MT-07L and MT-09 #2 and #3 selling Naked models outright
• AG200 #2 selling Farm model outright

A total of 42,549 units were sold between January and June, unchanged from the same period last year. Yamaha was the top-selling brand, followed by Honda, Kawasaki and KTM. Australian motorcycle sales were led by off-road motorcycles with 16,807 units sold (up 3.3%), followed by road bikes with 16,254 units (down 1.9%), off-highway vehicles with 6,765 units (down 5.5%), and scooters with 2,723 units (up 6.8%).
