UNIFILTER HAS YOUR DESERTX DESERT READY
With Ducati’s all-new DesertX arriving on these shores soon, many have asked just how well it’ll tolerate the harsh Australian conditions we know and love once off the beaten track – especially when it comes to keeping red desert dust out of your new 937cc Testastretta engine…
You could say European testing environments are a far cry from the deserts of Australia, where any half-baked airbox will be full of fine red silt in minutes. Enter UniFilter, Australian air filtration experts, who’ve just released their ProComp2 dual-stage replacement air filter.

With a steel-impregnated polyurethane frame precision cut to fit perfectly in the DesertX’s standard airbox, the UniFilter guys have ensured the best seal possible with minimal fuss. Interestingly, the ProComp2 filter is 5mm longer than the airbox to take up the small gap the standard paper filter leaves, giving you peace of mind when crankcase-deep in bulldust.

Couple this with their dual-layer corrugated foam (which doubles the air filter’s surface area), and you’ve got the best protection from that fine red dust getting into your machine. With two spare sets of foam inserts, the re-useable set-up is best used with UniFilter’s own mineral-based Filter Fix oil.
If you’ve managed to snag yourself a DesertX already (we’re envious if you have), the UniFilter ProComp2 filter is available to pre-order now, and will be available Australia-wide by early October for $119.58.
