Trick Brick – Sony Xperia GO Smartphone
Sony Mobile launches a Smartphone designed to take a punishing.
Dirt bikes and Smartphones don’t get along well. Most of the options available on the market – whether they be from Apple, Nokia, Samsung or LG – prove extremely useless the moment you introduce moisture or the odd impact, and they scratch easier than a compact disc at the beach, too. Sony’s latest release, the Xperia GO, might prove to be everything a social media cum digitally tech-savvy off-roader has ever been asking for.
Already packed with your standard Smartphone usability and connectivity, the Xperia GO is crammed with features such as a 1GHz dual-core processor for blazing performance, a 3.5″ Reality Display powered by Sony’s mobile BRAVIA engine and a 5MP camera (with 16x digital zoom), which can open from sleep-mode to photo-mode in just one second. However it’s the GO’s scratch impervious mineral display that provides scrolling in wet conditions and a body, which is water, impact and dust resistant, that makes Sony’s latest Smartphone stand out in a competitive market. And it’s no gimmick. Running Android software, the sleek (9.8mm thick) and light (110g) GO has been awarded the industries highest ever International Protection (IP) rating, IP67, for defense against dust and water immersion.
If you’re thinking, ‘what about access to music and video content’, Sony has that covered as well. The Xperia GO comes preloaded with Music and Video Unlimited from the Sony Entertainment Network that provides access to blockbusters, TV series and endless amounts of music. And what’s more, through a recently confirmed joint venture with Sony Mobile, Garage Entertainment – distributor of premium action sports films across Australia and New Zealand – will be making their entire video title list accessible from the Xperia GO handset in addition to any BRAVIA-equipped television set.
Sony’s Xperia GO comes in three colours (black, white and yellow) and is available through your local mobile phone outlet now, and on a range of pre-paid and contract-based plans. Check out this sweet little video of the Sony Xperia GO in all its water, dust and scratch resistant glory.
