The Jerkyls’ Sunday Slide: Gallery 3

Back in the 70’s dirt track was thriving in Australia. Every Sunday masses of riders headed to dirt ovals around the country to get their dirt track fix in record numbers. Riders of all skill levels converged to do it in the dirt. The sounds, smell and the rush all added to the addiction that brought people back to the track every weekend.

Fast forward to the 90’s – 00’s and it was quite clear that something happened to the great Australia dream. Bikes became modern, more reliable and quieter. Old bikes were mostly now forgotten by now and parked up in shed’s, collecting dust and laying dormant. The Jerkyls formed over an appreciation of these machines and the original legends who tamed them and with vision to see them back where they belong, on dirt ovals across Australia. These machines are now piloted by their children and grandchildren, some even still by the veterans of the sport of kings.

Sunday slide was born. A day where we pay homage to the veterans of dirt and where bikes come out to where they belong……dirt ovals across the Country.
