Tested: 2020 Beta X-Trainer 300 vs. RR300

Here in Australia (and in many other countries around the world) a 300cc two-stroke is the biggest-selling enduro model for KTM, Husqvarna, Sherco, Gas Gas and Beta in Australia. And the demand is similarly insatiable for the up-specced, special-edition 300s these brands all offer.
What sets Beta aside from the rest of these manufacturers is the fact they also offer a down-specced 300cc two-stroke – the X-Trainer 300. The X-Trainer 300 is Beta’s second biggest-selling model here in Australia. And for 2020, the X-Trainer has been revamped. It gets a counter-balanced engine, updates to the bodywork and chassis, lower seat height, oil injection, and a host of other changes. We recently put the 2020 X-Trainer 300 head-to-head with the popular RR 300 to find out what we liked best around our local rocky terrain.
