Tear-offs Banned in 2017

We have known this rule change was on the horizon for a while now – but officially from the 1st of January 2017 Motorcycling Australia is enforcing that the use of tear-offs will be banned in all MX, SX, Classic MX, Enduro, ATV & Minikhana classes.

The specifics from Motorcycling Australia can be found bellow:

Current Rule in the 2017 Manual of Motorcycle Sport: 
Appendix A: GOGGLES AND VISORS
7.2       Off-Road Disciplines
7.2.0.1       Tear-offs are banned for all Off-Road related disciplines,
including Minikhana

Rule Information:
Motorcycling Australia would like to remind all MA Off Road Racing disciplines that goggle and/or Visor tear-offs will be banned from competition as outlined in Appendix A, rule 7.2 of the 2017 MoMS. Roll-off systems are allowed. All MA affiliated clubs, promoters and participants should take note of the above to ensure riders adhere to this rule.

Rule change effective from: 
1st January 2017
