South African X-Fighters Gossip
Big news from South Africa – Levi Sherwood has pulled out of the penultimate round of the 2015 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour due to an injury he sustained at the same location one year ago fighting for the title against Australia’s Josh Sheehan. Word is a screw placed in Levi’s ankle at Pretoria last year has started to unscrew and was causing him considerable pain while practicing for the round. This is a major setback for Levi as he again had a strong chance of becoming only the second rider in history (behind American Nate Adams) to win the series twice.

Now the X-Fighters title race realistically comes down to a two-man battle between the in-form Aussie and series leader, Clinton Moore, and sensational Frenchman Tom Pagés, who isn’t slowing down with his trick progression. Two weeks ago at the Finish Air Show in France, Tom pulled off his first Frontflip in public off a new ramp he has built specifically for the trick, and rumours are he also has the Double Backflip dialled over 60-feet, which is over a slightly different set-up than Josh Sheehan uses, so the question is, will X-Fighters have room on the course to include two more ramp options that only suit Tom at this stage? If we see Tom include these two tricks into a run that already has Flair combos, the Volt, Body Varials and the Bike Flip, Moore will have his hands full trying to stay on top of the game here in Pretoria.
