SIX REASONS TO RACE THE 12-HOUR

Before there was an Transmoto 8-Hour anywhere else in Australia, there was Batemans Bay. Back in 2011, this patch of land in Buckenbowra hosted the very first Transmoto event ever run – and for 10 years straight, it was where the whole teams-based endurance format cut its teeth. Then, after 2020, the 12-Hour went quiet. This October, it’s back, on the same original property that started it all. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to enter, here are six…

1. It’s the original venue, six years on!

This isn’t a new location trying to recapture old magic – it’s the actual property where Transmoto’s very first event happened in 2011. Ten consecutive years of history sit on this ground, and 2026 marks its long-awaited return.

2. The Ironman lottery makes solo entry genuinely special

Only 12 Ironman spots exist, and this year the format’s been shaken up: three are earned by the riders with the deepest Ironman history at Transmoto events, and the other nine go into a live lottery draw for Tribe members. If solo’s your thing, this is as high-stakes as entry ever gets.

3. Two nights of camping now included

New for this event: you can camp both Saturday and Sunday night, so there’s no mad scramble to pack up after the chequered flag. Kick back, celebrate with your crew, and roll out by Monday morning instead.

4. A course built for riders of every level

Singletrack, creek crossings, fire road and grasstrack, with chicken-line options wherever things get technical – the loop is designed to challenge without intimidating, whether you’re chasing a trophy or just chasing the finish line.

5. A genuine South Coast road-trip

Beaches, fishing, hiking trails and hinterland scenery – Batemans Bay rewards riders who turn the weekend into a proper getaway with their mates, not just a race.

6. Team categories that actually reward who you are

Weekend Warriors, Young Guns, Wise Wizards, Mixed, Wonder Women, or Open – six categories mean there’s a genuine shot at silverware no matter what kind of crew you’re rolling with.

Pairs and Teams entries open for Transmoto Tribe members from 6pm AEDT on Tuesday, August 11, with general entries opening Thursday, August 13. Pre-register now so the entry link lands straight in your inbox the moment entries go live.
