SANDERS & SUNDERLAND READY FOR DAKAR
Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Sam Sunderland and Daniel Sanders are gearing up for the 2024 Dakar Rally, set to begin on January 5, 2024, in Saudi Arabia. Both experienced riders are eager to tackle the challenging event, with Sam aiming for his third victory and Daniel seeking redemption after a mixed 2023 season.
Sanders, the hard-charging Aussie, had a noteworthy 2023, securing seventh place at Dakar and winning his first FIM World Rally-Raid Championship round at the Sonora Rally in April. Unfortunately, a season-ending leg injury followed shortly after. Now, fully recovered and back on his GASGAS, Daniel is optimistic about Dakar 2024, stating, “Hopefully, my luck will turn in 2024, and I’ll have a good Dakar after a rough go at it during the past two years.”
The 2024 Dakar Rally promises to be the toughest yet, covering 14 stages through the Saudi Arabian desert and featuring a challenging 48-hour ‘Chrono Stage.’ The team is ready to face the demanding competition and is aiming for success in this renowned rally.
