Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire set the stage for an outstanding start to his 2024 AMA Supercross Championship season by clinching victory in the 250SX West class at Anaheim 1. This achievement also catapults him into the position of a serious title contender.

Right from the moment the bikes hit the track at Angel Stadium, Hampshire showcased his speed, securing the second position in the afternoon’s qualifying sessions aboard his Husqvarna FC250 Rockstar Edition.

Launching into the top three at the start of the main, Hampshire exhibited patience in the opening laps, allowing the race to unfold. He eventually surged into the lead, seizing control and ultimately securing the victory. With the win in the bag, he now holds the series leader’s red plate as he looks forward to Round 2. Reflecting on his success, Hampshire remarked, “A1 was awesome for me, and winning Anaheim 1 with the red plate was a dream of mine. I’m super-happy with the day, felt fantastic on my Husqvarna, and am grateful for the whole team. They’ve been exceptional, and it showed tonight. I took advantage of what the night offered, and it resulted in a win. I’m content with where we are at; there are a lot of positive things happening right now, and we’ll maintain a level-headed approach heading into San Fran next week.”
