RIP: Dave Marsicano
We were truly saddened to hear the news of Dave Marsicano’s sudden death late last week, and our thoughts are with Big Dave’s partner, family and friends. He was a larger-than-life, hardworking, warm-hearted character who was universally liked and respected way beyond his beloved hometown of Mt Buller in the Victorian High Country. Here, Dave Robbins shares a few words about his long-time friend and riding mate…
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Marsicano. “Big Dave”, as he was known to so many, passed away late last week after a sudden unexpected medical condition. This comes as a complete surprise to everyone, as the 45-year-old was ripping around the Victorian High Country on a snowmobile on the day before his passing.
People will remember Dave from his Mt Buller Motorcycle Adventures business as well as competing in the VORC and a few A4DEs. He was instrumental in organising the Mansfield A4DE in 2016, and this event simply would not have gotten off the ground without the great man’s involvement. The same can be said for his tireless work at the National Enduro-X series and the Sawmill Settlement Rally. Dave also sat on the committee of the Vic Off-Road and Victoria Police Motor Sports Club.
Big Dave was the physical size of 10 men, and worked like 10 men in any task he set out to do. He was one of those guys that you couldn’t say a bad thing about. He will always be remembered as a great bloke.

Dave leaves behind his long-time partner, Niki, who our thoughts are with in this tragic time. Dave also leaves a huge gap in the Australian off-road community and he will not be forgotten anytime soon. A Victorian High Country memorial ride will be planned to honour Dave and the incredible involvement and service he gave to motorcycling.
Rest In Peace, Dave
