Rider Ken Roczen and Team Manager Stefan Everts at the KTM headquarters

Ken Roczen, the impressive young German MX2 rider who joins the Red Bull KTM Factory Team as of 2011 and the general manager of Teka, a key major sponsor of the team have both been to KTM’s headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria, to be introduced to the world of Orange.

Plus, Stefan Everts, who has just signed another three-year contract with KTM to manage the Red Bull KTM Factory Team, and Roger DeCoster, probably the sport’s most iconic managerial figure, now charged with managing the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s entry into USA competition, have both been to the company headquarters to plan for the 2011 season and beyond.

For Ken, who has sparked excitement and expectations with his riding skills, finishing second in the MX2 world Championship, got the chance to experience the Orange family and to talk about the coming season with KTM Racing boss Pit Beirer, the factory team manager, and 10-times world champion Stefan Everts.

In a big week for visitors, also making the acquaintance of the KTM Racing in-house team and senior management was Martin Bau the general manager of Teka, who KTM is delighted to have onboard for as a major sponsor — as of the 2011 season.

Pit Beirer: “We very much welcome the opportunity to have Ken and Martin Bau with us in Mattighofen so that we can show them around and introduce them to our extended team, all of which contribute to our success on and off the track.”

Everts and DeCoster met with KTM’s CEO Stefan Pierer, Pit Beirer and other company executives, the visit of undoubtedly the two most respected figures in MX sports management began to lay the groundwork for what they hope to be another watershed year for KTM.

Pit Beirer: We are naturally delighted to welcome both Stefan and Roger to Mattighofen and of course to have signed Stefan for another three years. With him and having Roger onboard for the new US teams, we can now move forward with some major plans for KTM Racing in the coming seasons. There will be many challenges, including maintaining our dominance here in Europe while establishing the team as a force in the USA, but with Roger and Stefan we have the right people. Both are hugely experienced and highly respected.
