Review: Yoshimura RS-9 Dual Exhaust System
A product the Transmoto team has tried and tested, and would recommend to a mate…
WHAT IS IT?
The Yoshimura RS-9 DUAL is designed to replace the standard dual-muffler exhaust system first fitted to the CRF450R in 2013. It’s available in stainless/alloy (pictured), ti/carbon and ti/ti configurations.
HOW WE RATE IT:
The 450R’s standard exhaust is as quiet as a mouse, but it is also super-restrictive, and this sucks the life out of the new powerplant’s throttle response. As soon as we fitted Yoshi’s purpose-built system to our long-term 450R, the gains in both response and power were instantly noticeable across the rev range, but particularly off the bottom. And this was without any changes the EFI’s mapping. As you’d expect from Yoshimura, the system’s quality of finish is superb and its fit (using existing fastening points) is very precise. It creates a meatier exhaust note, without making your Honda CRF450R obnoxiously loud. Sure, $1000 is not a cheap mod, but it’ll will transform your asphyxiated CRF450R by unleashing the donk’s potential.
