Review: Polisport Rocksteady Stone Shield Armour

A product the Transmoto team has tried and tested, and would recommend to a mate…

WHAT IS IT?

The Polisport Rocksteady Stone Shield is a low-profile, lightweight chest protector from a company best known for producing quality aftermarket plastics. It can be worn under or over your jersey.

HOW WE RATE IT:

First impressions are important with armour, and as soon as we pulled on this Stone Shield, we could tell we were going to like it. Polisport has dished up an incredibly streamlined design that looks cool and, more importantly, is fully neckbrace-compatible. With clever rotational panels on both front and rear, it follows your body shape when riding better than most comparable protectors, making it easy to forget you’re even wearing the thing. The wide elastic side straps ensure added comfort, and with fully adjustable fasteners on both the waist and shoulders, it can be custom-fitted to a wide range of body sizes. For riders who like to wear their armour under a jersey, there’s ample padding and its all well positioned. The one downside is that padding around the neck area may cause a little chafing if you’re not wearing a neckbrace.
