Review: Oakley Airbrake MX Goggle

A product the Transmoto team has tried and tested, and would recommend to a mate…

WHAT IS IT?

Oakley’s Airbrake MX is an all-new goggle from long-time market leaders in moto-specific eye protection. It’s been designed from the ground up to redefine how riders think about their eyewear.

HOW WE RATE IT:

The fit is super-comfortable, thanks both to the high-quality face foam and strategic flex that’s built into the frame. And the Airbrake’s lens is an absolute work of art. Manufactured from an injection-moulded polycarbonate blend, its “Plutonite” lens is pre-curved and slots quickly into the frame via an ingenious double-hinge system. With its tapered thickness, the lens is 100% optically correct and has proven to be significantly stronger and more scratch-resistant than conventional Lexan lenses. Plus the low-profile nose design allows for a much wider roll-off strip. Whether it’s peripheral vision, safety, comfort or servicablity, this goggle sets an all-new benchmark for moto goggles. It certainly ain’t cheap, but it’s worth every cent of the premium price.
