NEW PRODUCT: UNIFILTER PROCOMP2 FILTER

When KTM and Husqvarna introduced their ingenious new air filter and cage fastening system five years ago, it made fitting air filters into these bikes virtually idiot-proof. But by introducing a second ‘hole’ (and two plastic grommets) into the air filter foam to accommodate the two locating pins, the design also increased the risk of filter sealing issues. So, straight off the bat, the guys from leading Aussie air filtration specialist, Unifilter Australia, devised a clever solution to the problem. And now, they’ve announced an upgraded offering – the ProComp2 Dual-Stage Air Filter, which improves on the design again and fits a wide range of KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS MX and enduro models.

Here’s why the new ProComp2 Dual-Stage Air Filter is claimed to offer an even better air filter solution for your Austrian-made machine:

• It’s a genuine two-stage filter; two filters in one design. The two layers can be separated (unlike most dual-stage filters, the two foam layers are not bonded together) to provide maximum airflow. Plus, separating the foam layers makes washing easier.

• Both layers are made using a fine grade of foam for maximum airflow and maximum filtration.

• The corrugated profile-cut outer layer provides two times the surface area for increased filtering capacity.

• It uses a double ultra-soft seal against the air boot.

• Custom-made soft polyurethane grommets (not plastic) provide a perfect seal with both the cage, and against the inner foam layer. Unlike plastic grommets, the PU grommets won’t go out of shape or become brittle after coming into contact with oil solvents.

• A filter cage wear patch has been added to the inner filter, where the original-style filters are prone to wear against the cage.

• Designed and made in Australia specifically for Australian conditions.
