If you’re sick of mucking around with clunky vice grips or pliers every time you need to install one of those tricky press-on sideplates on your chain link, then check out the latest Ballard’s-designed purpose-made press tool. The Ballard’s Chain Link Press Tool is designed to let you clamp and install the link and sideplate in one fast action. It fits all 428- to (the more common) 520-link chains and, with its high leverage pivot point and ingenious offset design, allows the work to be done while the chain is still on your bike.
