MXGP – Valkenswaard Results

The sun shone in Valkenswaard over the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, the third round of the 2013 FIM Motocross World Championship, which only made the sandy track demand more from the riders. The crowd of Valkenswaard enjoyed fantastic racing in both MX1 and MX2 classes, as they witnessed Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings take home the Overall victories. The opening round of the FIM WMX World Championship also took place, and it was Australian sensation Megan Rutledge, Natalie Kane and Chiara Fontanesi who starred in an intense battle from the beginning until the end of the heat. Eventually, it was Fontanesi who took the win, as well as the Overall victory ahead of Rutledge and Kane. Dean Ferris decided not to take part in the Grand Prix, as he is still suffering a lot of pain from the injuries he sustained some weeks ago. The Aussie will be back on his Monster Energy Yamaha at the following Grand Prix, which will take place in Italy in two weeks time.
