MICHELIN’S STARCROSS 6 HOOPS – KING OF AORC!

1 year ago | Words: Andy Wigan | Photos: YMA

We were unequivocal six months back when we offered our feedback on Michelin’s all-new, landmark range of Starcross 6 tyres. After flogging a few sets in a variety of terrain for several months, we found the Starcross 6 range undoubtedly steps up the French tyre brand’s offering when it comes to technology, performance and versatility. In short, we said these new Michelin hoops – the first dirt bike tyres to include silica technology rubber – offered massive improvements over their Starcross 5 predecessors in terms of durability and traction, both when new and worn. And to sanity-check our findings, we teamed up with ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing Team’s Josh Green – a guy who’s been riding and racing on Michelins for more than a decade.

Well, now that Greeny has finally got the money off his back by winning the 2023 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship’s (AORC) coveted Outright title, we figured it’d be fitting that we revisited the video we knocked up with Greeny about the Starcross 6 tyres that helped take him to that AORC Outright championship victory.
