MEET THE ATHLETE: FRASER HIGLETT
Beta Australia has intensified its racing efforts in 2024, showcasing a variety of racers across a range of disciplines aboard Beta’s impressive motorcycles. Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce you to some of Beta’s Australian athletes. This week, get to know Fraser Higlett.
Give us your vital stats.
I’m Fraser Higlett, from Mount Samson, QLD, and I’m 24 years old.
When did you start riding and when did you start competing?
I started riding when I was 4 but only began competing when I was 15.
What has been your most memorable achievement so far in your racing career?
My most memorable achievement would be winning the International Six Day with Team Australia.
You’ve been riding for Beta Motorcycles Australia for a few years now. How have the bikes changed over this time?
I’ve witnessed the progression in the bikes, as well as the team’s affiliation with the brand for so long. The bikes keep getting better and evolving, and it’s exciting to be part of a company that strives to stay ahead of the rest.
You’re on the RR 480 Racing this year in the E3 class. What made you decide on that bike and that class?
Having raced almost every model in the four-stroke range, I love the 480, especially since I’m going to tackle some faster desert races this year. It made sense to opt for the bike with the most power.
What are you hoping to achieve this season?
I’m aiming to contend for the AORC E3 championship. It would mean a lot to me to secure one under my belt, and I’m doing everything I can to make it happen. I will also be defending my QORC title to try to make that 5 in a row.
What tips do you have for young riders looking to compete in the near future?
My biggest tip would be to have fun and not rush to be the best straight away. If you enjoy riding and improving, success will come eventually.
