Get to know KTM Australia Enduro Team’s newest recruit, Lyndon Snodgrass. Riding in the AORC aboard a KTM 300EXC in 2017, Snodgrass is currently sitting in a solid second place behind Husqvarna’s Lachlan Stanford after four rounds of the series. But what is this 19-year-old character like off the bike? Let’s find out…

NAME: Lyndon Snodgrass
AGE: 19
TEAM: KTM Enduro Team
WEIGHT/HEIGHT: 78kg/6ft (182cm)
SINGLE/STEADY/HITCHED: Single
KIDS: No
MUSIC: Flume, Drake, Eminem
MY CREW: Glenn Kearney, Harry Norton, Mick Carusi, Garry Blizzard

If I didn’t race dirt bikes professionally, I’d probably be…
On the tools as a carpenter.

Three things people don’t know about me are…

  1. I prefer three-hour cross-countries over sprint races.
  2. I prefer winter more than summer.
  3. My favourite ice cream is a Maxibon.

The best thing about being a KTM athlete is…
Getting to ride the awesome KTM 300EXC whenever I want!

My most memorable race was…
The 2016 Hattah Desert Race has to be my most memorable. I had some of the best battles of my career that day and reached my personal goal of finishing inside the top 10.

My fiercest rivalry is…
The whole top-five this year is definitely the most fierce competition I’ve had in my career, but at the end of the day it makes for great racing and it’s always fun to be out there battling.

If I was a series promoter, the first thing I’d do is…
Make more three-hour cross-country races.

A funny story about my mechanic…
My mechanic, Harry Norton, came riding at my house last year and we went for a trailride up in the hills. Harry had only ridden sand prior to that and, long story short, he looped his bike out about five times on the slippery clay hills! [laughs]

I escape from the grind of training and racing by…
Having a good feed at KFC with my mates.

I’m obsessed about…
Racing dirt bikes.

Don’t even start me about…
Bad traffic!!!
